The OHCHR Mission in Bangladesh offers training and technical assistance to the authorities across a range of areas to support the country in meeting its human rights commitments. It also undertakes capacity-building initiatives for government institutions and civil society actors. In addition, the Mission provides independent assessments of the human and inform and engage with the relevant authorities of Bangladesh on emerging trends in this area, with a view to advising possible preventive or remedial actions by national authorities.

Vacancy Details for OHCHR Job Circular 2026:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, international relations, law or related area is required. A minimum of two years of experience in managing and supervising small teams (minimum three staff members) is required. A minimum of two years of experience in managing and implementing human rights programmes (planning, budgets, reporting etc.) is required. Experience in donor relations and resource mobilization is desirable.

Required languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required. The table below shows the minimum required level for each skill in these languages, according to the UN Language Framework (please consult https://languages.un.org for details).
