ICDDR,B (formerly known as the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh) is an international health research organisation located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dedicated to saving lives through research and treatment, ICDDR,B addresses some of the most critical health concerns facing the world today, ranging from improving neonatal survival to HIV/AIDS. In collaboration with academic and research institutions over the world, ICDDR,B conducts research, training and extension activities, as well as programme-based activities, to develop and share knowledge for global lifesaving solutions.

Vacancy Details for ICDDR Bangladesh Job Circular 2026:
- MBBS degree recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council with completion of one-year internship.
- Minimum of six month’s working experience in a reputed hospital or six month’s training either in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine recognized for pursuing post-graduate studies, such as DCH/ MD/ FCPS is required; having an MPH degree will be an added value.
Location: Dhaka
Evaluation & Certification: The progress in fellowship training will be monitored and evaluated. On successful completion of training and final evaluation, the Clinical Fellow will be awarded a certificate.
Prospects: After completion of the program, the Fellows may apply against any other suitable position of the Centre. However, such employment is not guaranteed. The selected Fellows will not be eligible for any other fellowship program at the Centre.
Duties and responsibilities:
Clinical Management
- Admit and evaluate new patients and decide appropriate action (e.g. treatment and discharge, or admission into clinical units);
- Conduct a thorough physical examination and gather detailed patient history;
- Request and administer tests, if required (e.g. blood test, x-ray);
- Interpret test results; consult with senior doctors (if required);
- Diagnose condition and prescribe treatment;
- Manage complicated cases;
- Regular follow-up of admitted patients to review the response to treatment;
- Document all patient interactions electronically;
- Review complicated cases with senior doctors during their daily rounds;
- Take actions on recommendations made by senior doctors;
- Coordinate patient-care activities with nurses and other hospital staff;
- Supervise and guide other members in the team for day-to-day tasks;
- Support clinical research work in the hospital;
Knowledge Sharing
- Train other staff in basic rules and procedures followed at icddr,b hospitals;
- Prepare and present reports on cases, incidents, initiatives etc. in classes and meetings to share experience.
Professional Development
- Participate in the fellowship education, and learning series program;
- Attend all training/clinical sessions;
- Actively take part, develop and demonstrate an interest in a particular specialty;
- Seek opportunities to be exposed to research activities of the unit in order to develop clinically and acquire new skills;
- Participate in mentoring activities organized by icddr,b.
Salary Offered:
- Stipend and facilities: Monthly stipend amounting to Tk. 59,140/- free transportation to and from the duty station (subject to availability of transport) and subsidized canteen.
