Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a private Danish humanitarian non-profit organization, founded in 1956. It serves as an umbrella organization for 33 member organizations. Formed after the Second World War in response to the European refugee crises caused by the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956, DRC has been active in large scale humanitarian projects around the world. Through convoy operations DRC was responsible for delivering half of the international humanitarian aid in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the wars of independence in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

Vacancy Details for DRC Job Circular 2026:

  • Minimum University degree in social sciences, such as Social Work, Anthropology, Psychology, Development Studies, law, or relevant disciplines.
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline is preferable.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum of two years of experience working directly with vulnerable communities or refugees in a protection case management capacity, preferably in humanitarian or displacement settings.
  • Prior experience with an international or local NGO or United Nations agency is required.
  • Proficiency in Chittagonian and Rohingya dialects is essential for effective community engagement.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Bengali.
  • Basic knowledge of narrative reporting, including the ability to contribute to case summaries, internal updates, and donor reports.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to work in field environments, including in challenging weather and logistical conditions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using tools such as Kobo Toolbox, ActivityInfo, or other data collection and reporting platforms.
