Vacancy Details for WFP Job Circular 2026:

  • Education: Completion of Advanced University Degree (Master’s or equivalent) is required. Education in Security Management, International Relations or Law Enforcement or other field relevant to security, political science, humanitarian and international development.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of overall experience, including 3 years of Professional Experience (managerial or supervisory) in areas related to security management (relevant military, policy or corporate) and/or security risk management, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development. Within these 3 years of professional experience, a minimum of 1 year of experience must be after postgraduation.
  • Language: Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

  • 1. Contribute to security and safety contingency and business continuity plans for the office by supporting the standardization, implementation, and testing of emergency response systems across WFP facilities in-country.
  • 2. Liaise with the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) and the in-country security management system and participate in security operations and management meetings to ensure WFP management and staff are fully informed and briefed on security developments affecting the Country Office (CO) and Field Offices.
  • 3. Support Country, Area, and Field Offices in achieving and maintaining compliance with Security Risk Management Measures, in coordination with WFP’s Security Division.
  • 4. Oversee facility access control measures and procedures to ensure the safety and security of WFP personnel, visitors, and assets, in line with UNSMS and best practices.
  • 5. Contribute the management of security budgets and procurement planning to ensure the efficient, effective, and cost-conscious utilization of security resources.
  • 6. Responsible for management of security equipment ensuring they are properly issued, in serviceable condition, and compliant with established security standards.
  • 7. Coordinate with the Human Resources Unit on security staffing matters (recruitment, contract management, capacity-building), ensuring compliance with WFP policies and procedures.
  • 8. Monitor and analyze local security developments and emerging risks, assessing their potential impact on WFP and CP personnel, assets, and operations, and providing timely updates to the supervisor.
  • 9. Prepare and submit accurate, comprehensive, and timely security reports, including near miss and contextually relevant political and security developments in the WFP Security Incident Report platform – STARS, and provide briefings to support informed decision-making and ensure consistency in information provided to senior management.
  • 10. Conduct security orientation briefings for newly arrived personnel, ensuring they are fully aware of local security conditions, risks, procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • 11. Support the planning and delivery of security training and awareness activities to strengthen the security preparedness and capabilities of WFP personnel and external partners.
  • 12. Provide operational security support during emergencies and crisis situations, assisting the supervisor in responding to evolving requirements and emerging threats.
  • 13. Perform other security-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor in support of WFP operations and organizational objectives.
